And the customer reappeared ...

Miesbach

- It's back: The missing VW Golf 8 from the Weingärtner car dealership in Miesbach was discovered during a police check in the Traunstein district and immediately seized.

At the wheel: the customer who rented the vehicle and then went into hiding.

In the meantime, he even called the dealership himself.

“He wanted to know when he can get his things out of the car,” reports the still stunned service manager Andreas Humer.

Otherwise, the man sounded pretty relaxed.

He did not comment on the misappropriation of the Gulf.

The already bizarre story goes on.

Dealership thanks for many references to missing Golf

But first of all, Humer is happy that the missing car is back.

The service manager reported that this official went online on Saturday night.

Not least thanks to the numerous information received in response to the car dealer's search request and the reports in Miesbacher Merkur, the vehicle's range of motion was able to be limited to the Chiemsee, Rosenheim and Traunstein area.

“We are really excited about the dynamism our call has taken”, writes the dealership on Facebook and thanks for the “great support”.

A check by the federal police then led to success, reports the head of the Miesbach police station, Katharina Schreiber, when asked by our newspaper.

They would have secured the Golf on the basis of the wanted notice.

The suspect, on the other hand, was not arrested because the public prosecutor's office could not see any immediate risk of flight and therefore had not issued an arrest warrant.

What the man is now facing criminally, would show the further investigations.

Disappeared vehicle was driven 10,000 kilometers

At the car dealership, meanwhile, they take care of an inventory, which they picked up from a towing company after securing it. The condition of the Golf is surprisingly good, reports the service manager. Only the right outside mirror was damaged, the customer then patched it up temporarily. What shocked Humer, however, is the mileage. "He drove almost 10,000 kilometers." Where to, one could not reconstruct due to a lack of location data. "But we look at the destinations that he has entered in the navigation system," explains Humer. Further clues could result from parking tickets, should the man have collected them. From this, the dealership will then calculate the amount of damage caused by the unauthorized extended vehicle rental.

According to Humer, it is not yet clear how the golf will continue.

Until further notice, he will remain signed off.

The registration number MB-GO-4444 is initially negative.
