By recognizing at the beginning of July that the High Environmental Value (HVE) certification will allow French farmers to benefit from the environmental premiums of the new common agricultural policy (CAP), the government has given a boost to “responsible” wheat.
This is in any case the opinion of Eric Thirouin, president of the inter-profession of wheat producers (AGPB).
In recent years, they have embarked on a process of producing “sustainable” cereals, which offers better value from an environmental point of view, but also more profitable for cereal producers.
