Cartoonist Raed Khalil won the honorary award at the World Press Festival in Portugal, with the participation of hundreds of cartoonists from 58 countries from around the world.
The festival is considered the most important in the world at the organizational level and the great value in the media given to the winning artists.
Khalil's winning painting depicted the subject of the theory of relativity and its complexities in a satirical manner that made the mechanic maintain and repair it, in a clear indication and indications of the urgent need to develop some concepts and crystallize them in a way that keeps pace with progress and gives new dimensions with different clothes and opens the gates of contemplation to the world with all its theories and proofs.
In his critical drawings, Khalil seeks to shed light on social, humanitarian and patriotic issues, as well as the positive and negative aspects of life and society worldwide.
It is worth mentioning that the artist Khalil is the director of the Syrian International Caricature website, which won the best website in the world, in addition to managing the Syria International Caricature Festival since 2005 until now.
