Chen Fen, deputy general manager of the Hong Kong branch of China Evergrande Group, was suspected of raping a woman in a unit in Happy Valley. Although there are newspapers claiming that the son of Civil Service Secretary Nie Dequan, the barrister Nie Tianle, is one of Chen's lawyers, it is reported that Nie is only in the same big law firm as the Chen lawyers. It is reported that Nie did not provide legal advice on this case.

Chen Xunzhun was released on bail of HK$100,000 and was not allowed to leave Hong Kong and report to the police station twice a week.
