The British “
Freedom day
” has arrived.
England is throwing back the mask and removing virtually all restrictions linked to the coronavirus pandemic on Monday.
With the exception of the restrictions which still weigh on travelers arriving from France - including British residents - who wish to travel to English territory.
Indeed, all people who have spent at least ten days in France, and even fully vaccinated, will have to continue to observe a ten-day quarantine upon their arrival in the United Kingdom, the British government said last Friday.

The government had however announced that residents in the United Kingdom fully vaccinated from destinations classified "
orange
" such as France or Spain, would no longer need to observe quarantine from Monday.
"
However, this will not apply to France due to the persistent presence of cases in France of the Beta variant (of the coronavirus), which was identified for the first time in South Africa
", thus specified the ministry of British Health.
Thus, anyone who has stayed in France during the ten days preceding their arrival in England must be placed in quarantine.
A health situation under pressure
A decision deemed "
excessive
" by the Secretary of State for European Affairs Clément Beaune. He considers that this measure is "
not completely scientifically
based" because it is based on the circulation of the Beta variant, or South African variant, "
while it is the Delta variant which concerns us now more
". France has not instituted specific quarantine measures against travelers from the United Kingdom. This allows vaccinated people to move around, while unvaccinated people need to be able to prove that their trip is motivated by a "
compelling reason
" and self-isolate.

The British health situation remains under tension, however.
In a recent appeal, a group of influential international scientists felt that the Johnson government's decision to lift health restrictions posed a "
risk of undermining efforts to control the pandemic not only in the UK, but also in other areas. 'other countries
'.
Boasting the success of the vaccination campaign, Boris Johnson ignored these warnings.
He contented himself with calling on his compatriots to show "
caution
" in the face of the wave of contaminations which has been growing continuously for several weeks.
