It was a “cool vintage”.

This was confirmed by the OMG graduate Neufahrn's mayor.

And otherwise there was a lot of praise for the high school students.

Neufahrn

- When they came to the OMG - that is: to the Oskar-Maria-Graf-Gymnasium - they would only have thought: "OmG" - so: Oh, my God. The students who received their high school diploma on Friday. So now they have made it, have graduated from high school. “Everything has now come to a happy end,” headmistress Juliane Stubenrauch-Böhme also confirmed to Absolvia 2021. And: You can get married two or three times, but the Abitur is really unique in life.

The first big praise came on Friday at the graduation ceremony (Corona-related in two shifts) from Neufahrn's mayor Franz Heilmeier: “A cool OMG year” is the one that deserves a lot of respect for their work and discipline, especially in these times. The "first-class high school graduates at a first-class grammar school" would combine determination and the will to succeed. Heilmeier also became political: The rapidly changing requirements from the Ministry of Culture would have cost strength and nerves, so Heilmeier. He described the discussions about the air filter systems, the use and value of which he was skeptical of, as a “sham debate” about whether the local politicians would value the protection of children. Parents' council chairwoman Andrea Schafferhans-Fuhrmann disagreed: The air purification system is not that surprising,It had already been discussed last autumn. Admittedly, such systems are "not everything, but an important component". Local politicians would have to take responsibility, demanded Schafferhans-Fuhrmann.

Now all roads are open

The Absolvia 2021 certified the chairwoman of the parents' council that she had "achieved something great". All paths are now open to high school graduates, they have achieved maturity - are now ready for university, ready for life, maybe also “ready for vacation”. After Friedrich Kempe and Thomas Kopatsch had given the Abitur speech in the first part of the event, Vanessa Müller and Matteo Nigro took the microphone in the second part: Corona - that sometimes led to nervous breakdowns, also in a "lighthouse school" in terms of digitization. The building itself, where the way from one end to the other is like an odyssey, is already a “fundamental structure” - sauna included for free, the duo scoffed. And the teachingthat the high school graduates would have drawn from dealing with the teachers after years at the OMG? "To be careful means to live longer."

Don't lose sight of the positive

In spite of everything, Stubenrauch-Böhme hoped that the high school graduates would remember the positive experiences and certified the Absolvia 2021 that she had "kept her nerve" in around 10,000 school hours at the OMG.

“It is done,” said the headmistress and appealed to the graduates to use their talents, their education and their critical spirit.

With the Abitur they now have “a compass” that is more important than ever in a world that currently seems to be falling apart.

And then there were the certificates.

At last.
