The graduates were responsible for the emotional highlights at the celebration - and then senior school coordinator Stefan Pellmaier.

- With distance and mask and accompanied by two relatives, the graduates met on Friday in the town hall, where they received the congratulations from the school, parents and from the city and district.

It was reminded once again of the school career, which, for example, the Parents' Council Chairman Christian Ambros compared with the tour of a mountaineer: At the beginning there would have been an "arduous ascent", then you marched from various base camps on sometimes bumpy stretches towards the summit, which you - after a two-year, sometimes arduous final sprint - also achieved;

Always accompanied by experienced mountain guides (teachers) and constant companions (parents).

“Now it is important to set further goals” and to embark on a new path, says Ambros.

"You have the tools for this."

Vice District Administrator Anita Meinelt also saw it this way: The diploma is not just "a pretty piece of paper that disappears in a folder, but is the ticket to a new chapter in life".

This means that “you can safely navigate into the future - you determine the destination yourself”.

Meinelt's appeal: "Use your potential and enjoy your life to the full, even when there are hurdles to overcome."

Moosburg's mayor Josef Dollinger is also proud of the Absolvia: With an average grade of 2.12, the graduates would have achieved a “really great result” - and that after “extraordinary months that are behind all of us”. With the experience of the Corona crisis and the Abitur in their pockets, the young people can “start well equipped for the future”.

Before the graduates were allowed to pick up their certificates on stage - accompanied by personal pictures and music - it was very important to the Absolvia to say goodbye to "their" upper school coordinator and say thank you: The young people said they were spread out over the entire town hall the ABBA song "Thank you for the music" for the best - with a view to the committed teacher Stefan Pellmaier, rewritten to "Thank you, dear Pelli".

This in turn was visibly touched - knowing that he had written a song himself for his first year as senior school coordinator.

These were the two most emotional moments in a celebration that, despite Corona restrictions, represented a dignified farewell to school career.

Pellmaier's song was honored with a standing ovation.

The popular teacher had previously emphasized in his speech: “You are a very special class.” Highly motivated, he would have taken over the class two years ago and had many plans for the time together.

But parties, excursions and the like fell victim to “a nasty little virus”.

But with solidarity, willingness to help and togetherness (and many, sometimes admonishing letters) one got through this time well.

81 graduates would have mastered the Abitur - 30 young people with a one before the decimal point.

“We are proud of you.” After “two intense years” Pellmaier wished his students “a large portion of passion to discover what you are passionate about”, “satisfaction in fast-moving times” and “God's blessing”.

Headmistress Claudia Theumer, who also praised the "very good result" of the Absolvia, said at the end: "Follow your dreams and go your own way."
