The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the successful launch of the hypersonic (Zirkon) missile.
The Russia Today website quoted the ministry as saying today that the Admiral Gorshkov frigate in the Mediterranean successfully launched a missile (Tsirkon).
The hypersonic missile (Tsirkon) has a speed of about Mach 9, equivalent to about 11,000 kilometers per hour, and it can destroy large-sized ships, including aircraft carriers, at a distance of 1,000 kilometers.
