The Lattakia Summer Shopping Festival, which is held in the Panorama Park, in cooperation between Lattakia Governorate, the branch of the Syrian Trade Corporation and the Tourism Directorate, with the participation of many commercial companies, continued its activities amid a good turnout of citizens.
The Governor of Latakia, Ibrahim Khader Al-Salem, was briefed today on the progress of the festival's activities.
Shadi Dlala, director of the Syrian Trading Corporation branch, explained that the branch is working within the framework of the government’s plan for positive intervention to participate in all shopping festivals at competitive prices compared to market prices for all products, pointing out that all participating pavilions sell their products at prices lower than the local market by an average of 25% until the end of the festival .
Wael al-Jundi, a salesman in a company that produces grains, legumes, rice and sugar, said that the company sells in its booth about 17 types of its products without profit and at less than the cost price by about 200 Syrian pounds, with the aim of making the festival a success and as a kind of publicity for the company’s products, describing the turnout as good.
In turn, a saleswoman in a food products company said that participation in the festival is not for profit, and that the foodstuffs offered in the company’s pavilion, such as flour, corn, beans, lentils, bulgur, rice, sugar and other products are sold at competitive prices for the local market, less than the market by about 200 Syrian pounds per kilogram.
The festival, which was launched in the middle of last month, includes about 35 companies offering various products, including clothing, foodstuffs and detergents, at prices lower than the local market by about 25 percent, in agreement with commercial companies to achieve positive intervention.
