Amid pressure from a group of parents with disabled children and comorbidities for the Government to obtain vaccines to immunize them, the deputy of Together for Change
Waldo Wolff
proposed creating a
"health circuit"
so that young people are vaccinated in
Uruguay
with
Pfizer
dosage
.
The initiative was sent
to Foreign Minister Felipe Solá
through a letter after having discussed the matter with the Uruguayan Ambassador to Argentina
Carlos Enciso.
According to the letter, through the link that Wolff established with the "Vacuname" network -which brings together parents of young people between 12 and 18 years old with comorbidities and disabilities- he got involved "to try to provide immediate solutions to so many families of compatriots who they go through their days with risk and anguish ".
Congressman Waldo Wolff proposed a "sanitary circuit" to vaccinate young people with disabilities in Uruguay with Pfizer.
According to the letter, Ambassador Enciso is "aware of the proposal" after holding informal conversations with the deputy.
Even, according to Wolff,
the ambassador "immediately received my concerns with interest and concern to articulate conducive actions."
"We specifically suggest
that the Uruguayan government can manage the vaccines
that these children and their family group need so much, to be placed urgently
while our country continues with negotiations with the Pfizer laboratory," Wolff proposes and adds: "
Unfortunately for each family with a child at risk, every day is one of immeasurable anguish and danger. "
Pfizer's coronavirus vaccines are the only vaccines so far licensed for young people between the ages of 12 and 18.
In the letter, dated this Monday, the deputy from Together for Change explains: "With the good offices of both countries, we understand that the only thing left to do is for these young people to regain the possibility of going to school, to continue with their treatments and re-bonding with their peers without putting their health at risk,
is to organize a creative, bilateral sanitary and diplomatic operation with haste so that the inoculation of vaccines is carried out successfully ".
"With political will, without ideology and by laying down party visions in a few days we can give these families the peace of mind that their children will be protected," closes the letter sent to Solá.
Last Saturday, the father's group "Vacuname" met in the Plaza de Mayo to demand that the Government advance the vaccination plan for boys with comorbidities and disabilities who are between 12 and 18 years old.
Family members demanded throughout the country
that the entry of the vaccines made by Pfizer, the only one authorized for them, be approved.
So far, the Government assured that it is waiting for the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve the application in minors of the Moderna laboratory vaccine, after a donation of 3.5 million euros arrived in the country. dose by the US Government
