Nine years after she disappeared, this week the bitch was found defective and returned to her owner.

Luca, a Border Collie dog, was stolen from the yard of the Itach family home in Rosh Pina when she was two years old.

Zohar Itach, the dog's owner, then lived at his parents' house, where Luca grew up.

He said he searched for her for a long time across the north after she suddenly disappeared.

At one point he realized he would not be able to locate her.

"I have not forgotten her, but I have already come to terms with the evil of the decree," he said.

"I realized that if such a long time had passed, she would never come back to me."

Two years after Luca disappeared, Zohar began raising the dog James.

On Sunday, veterinarian Dr. Gil Shavit called him and told him that Luca had been found wandering. The chip on her body, and so it came to Dr. Shavit from Yesod HaMaala, who was her veterinarian 11 years ago.

When Shavit checked and saw that the chip did belong to a defective dog, whom he had cared for when she was young, he immediately called Itach. "Dr. Shavit called me and told me to sit down before I heard what he had to tell me," Itach said. "It took me a while to digest it." The

excited Itach hurried to vacate all his occupations to meet his beloved dog again. Itach. "Her fur was tangled and full of knots and she looked off. See that the one who held her did not give her warmth and love. I think she was tied up most of the time. "

Luca is not sterilized and the explanation is that she was stolen by a man who used her for breeding and selling the puppies she gave birth to, and when she got older he abandoned her.Another assumption is that the thief may have run into it due to the ability of Border Collie dogs to lead and maintain herds of sheep and cattle.

Meanwhile, in their home in the Golan Heights, Itach's wife and children were already waiting for Luke, whom they had never met, but only heard about and saw pictures of her.

Upon returning home the excitement was great.

She received a host of treats, food, a shower and a haircut.

Itach says that yesterday and this morning she already looked more recovered and even when she had a light tail and he hopes that she begins to remember him and recognize him.

"A nine-year cycle has closed," said the happy Itach.

"A new family member has joined us, it's a great happiness. I'm glad that in her last years Luca will have a warm and loving home."
