Lavender field in Adlstrasse is used intensively as a photo backdrop

In 2019, the skilled landscape gardener Tafelmeier planted the field next to his farm in Adlstraß near Grüntegernbach.

It bloomed for the first time last year, and there was already a rush.

Photographers, cyclists, walkers, all made a pilgrimage to the Bavarian Provence.

Even the BR was interested in Tafelmeier's project and broadcast an article in the evening show.

The field blooms and smells for around four weeks and this time is again used intensively as a photo backdrop this year.

The artistic, partly edited pictures are published on social media, especially on Instagram, and garner lots of likes.

Tafelmeier and his partner Hildegard like that. "We want our message to be carried out into the world," says the lavender farmer.

With his diverse projects, behind which the community of interest Adlstraß is, the idealist wants to create a paradise together with the members and make it tangible.

And he wants to give back to nature what man has taken from it.

He is not afraid of work for it.

A row of lavenders requires 18 hours of care annually, 100 are.

Those who cannot help are welcome to donate.

He's hoping for the same from the photographers.

Lavender field becomes Instagram hotspot: Lavender farmers are always ready to answer questions

Matthias Tafelmeier and Hildegard Pritscher look calmly at the hustle and bustle of the photographers. They are happy to answer any questions. Because “I would like people to be interested in what's behind the project”. It became too much for both of them once, however, when a photographer ignited a color rocket in the middle of the field and when barriers were not adhered to. But neither of them would get angry about it. "If you are in the lavender field all day and inhale the scent, nothing will upset you," says Hildegard Pritscher with a laugh, because lavender is known for its calming effect.

At the top of the field, neighbor Andreas Franzl, who burns his fine schnapps in the upper basket, sits on a wooden bench with a view of the entire blue sea of scents.

“It's so beautiful what Matthias has created, I often come here in the evening and just breathe in the scent,” he enthuses.

Friends Josephine Lauterbach, Kristallia Kampouridou and Aruna Klingner also enjoy it.

“It's really beautiful here,” says 17-year-old Kristallia, who lives in Anzing near Ebersberg, happily.

"You really have to look for something like that." (And)
