The Hong Kong Research Institute today (20th) announced the results of a survey of 5 core social indicators this month. It showed that the "prosperity" indicator scored the highest and the "democracy" score the lowest, but all scored about 4 points and all failed.
The Hong Kong Public Opinion Research Project invited 1,003 citizens in the form of random sample telephone interviews from June 30 to July 8. They are "prosperity", "stability", "freedom", "rule of law" and "democracy." The score of the core social indicators has a minimum score of 0 and a maximum score of 10.
The five indicators were scored 4.94, 4.76, 4.56, 4.48, and 4.04 points, respectively, which has not changed much from a month ago.
Among the five indicators, "Prosperity" scored the highest, 0.11 points higher than last month.
Huang Weiguo, an independent scholar in Hong Kong's cultural studies and political science, believes that in recent days, many immigrants have left Hong Kong to "eat a lot of food," and the beginning of accepting applications for consumer vouchers may be one of the factors leading to the increase in the score of the "prosperity" indicator.
Since the beginning of the summer vacation may continue to promote public consumption, he predicts that the "prosperity" indicator may continue to rise next month.
Huang Weiguo pointed out that the July 1st Assassin's case made the "stability" index drop reminiscent, and the suspension of "Apple Daily" may also lead to a significant drop in the "freedom" index.
As for the slight increase in the score of the "democracy" indicator, Huang Weiguo believes that this is not related to the government's administration. It is only that the social atmosphere has eased in recent days compared to last year, and there is no tense confrontation.
In addition, with regard to the limited aggregation index survey, Minyan contacted and interviewed 6,158 Hong Kong citizens who were 12 years old or above by e-mail from 18 to 23 last month.
According to the survey, 64% of citizens believe that the gathering restrictions should be completely cancelled.
Another 94% of citizens think that the current gathering restrictions are too tight.
Minyan: 38% of respondents expect that the relationship between the police and the people will deteriorate. Scholars believe that it will take time to improve the relationship. Minyan: Chen Maobo's approval rate turns positive and the score for consumer voucher effect soars by 8 points, a 3-year high. Hong Kong Minyan: rate of concern about political issues Increased by 4%, more than 90% of the respondents said that the gathering order is too tight
