Apparently the body is a man who has been missing for several years.

Oberried - Scary find in the Black Forest: a human skeleton has been found near the Feldberg summit.

It is probably the remains of a man from Schallstadt in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district who has been missing for almost six years, as a police spokesman told the German press agency on Tuesday.

This is supported by objects that were discovered on the skeleton: such as a snack box, a bottle and a backpack.

These matched the earlier descriptions of the 74-year-old man at the time of his disappearance.

He set out to find berries in August 2015 and never returned home.

A final confirmation of the identity of the corpse could only bring the currently ongoing forensic medical examination, it said.

The police assume an accident, not a crime.

had previously

reported on the case.

A fatal mountain accident also recently occurred in the Bavarian Alps.

According to the police spokesman, a forest district manager and his colleague discovered the skeleton on July 9 in extremely impassable terrain on a steep slope in a kind of crevice. Search teams passed near the scene of the accident in 2015, but the body was no longer visible from a few meters away. A dead baby was discovered in a waste bin in Bavaria.
