New York (CNN Business) -

Jeff Bezos, the world's richest person, is about to embark on a supersonic journey to the edge of space.

He will fly aboard New Shepard, a suborbital capsule and rocket system built by his space company Blue Origin.

He will also bring a few guests on this maiden voyage: his brother, Mark Bezos;

Wally Funk, 82-year-old pilot and one of the women from "Mercury 13";

and an 18-year-old recent high school graduate named Oliver Daemen, who will be the first paying customer aboard New Shepard.

  • Jeff Bezos will go into space for 11 minutes.

    How risky is this?

The tour, which will last approximately 11 minutes from takeoff to landing, will begin from the Blue Origin facility in extremely remote terrain near Van Horn, Texas, which is about two hours from El Paso, on Tuesday, July 20 at 8 a.m. CT or 9 a.m. ET, weather permitting.

This is where Jeff Bezos will take off 3:18

The public will be able to see the whole thing on the Blue Origin live stream, which will begin airing at 6:30 am CT / 7:30 am ET.

Viewers can look forward to exterior shots of the rocket and capsule as it blasts off into the cosmos.

(Shots of the interior, and Bezos's facial expressions, won't be released until after the flight.)

CNN will also have journalists on the ground and a live blog.
