Bezos talks about critics of billionaires in space
During an interview that aired on "New Day," Rachel Crane asked Jeff Bezos: "There has been a chorus of critics who say that these flights into space are, you know, just rides for the rich, and that you should be spending your time and your money and energy, trying to solve problems here on Earth. So what do you say to those critics? "
Bezos didn't avoid the question, "Well, I say they are largely right. We have to do both. You know, we have a lot of problems here and now on Earth and we have to work on them, and we always have to look towards it. future. We have always done it as a species, as a civilization. We have to do both, "he replied.
He said this mission is about "building a path into space for the next generations to do amazing things there, and those amazing things will solve problems here on Earth."

How risky is the trip?
By Jackie Wattles
Space travel is historically fraught with danger.
Although the risks are not necessarily astronomical for Jeff Bezos' excursion into the cosmos, as his space company Blue Origin has spent most of the last decade running the New Shepard suborbital rocket in which it will travel through a series of flights of successful test.
(Plus, being in space is Bezos's lifelong dream.)

How to watch Jeff Bezos' journey into space
By Jackie Wattles
The tour, which will last approximately 11 minutes from takeoff to landing, will begin from the Blue Origin facility in extremely remote terrain near Van Horn, Texas, which is about two hours from El Paso, on Tuesday, July 20 at 8 a.m. CT or 9 a.m. ET, weather permitting.
The public will be able to see the whole thing on the Blue Origin live stream, which will begin airing at 6:30 am CT / 7:30 am ET.
Viewers can look forward to exterior shots of the rocket and capsule as it blasts off into the cosmos.
(Shots of the interior, and Bezos's facial expressions, won't be released until after the flight.)
CNN will also have journalists on the ground and a live blog.
Blue Origin is also expected to host a post-flight press conference with Bezos and his fellow travelers.
