The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) publishes that, according to a recent quarterly survey, in Mexico one in six people over 18 years of age perceive insecurity in their city of residence.

This perception index is lower in some municipalities such as San Pedro Garza García, in Nuevo León, but extremely high in cities such as Cancún, Quintana Roo.
