Hubert Caouissin, sentenced to 30 years of criminal imprisonment for the quadruple murder of his in-laws in 2017, appealed against the judgment fixing the compensation for the families of the victims, told AFP on Tuesday, July 20, his lawyer Me Patrick Larvor.

The client appeals because he finds that the compensation is too high,
" he confirmed, without commenting further.
On the penal level, Hubert Caouissin had not appealed against his sentence pronounced on July 7.

Hubert Caouissin, 50, was sentenced for having killed with hind kicks in February 2017 his brother-in-law Pascal Troadec, his wife, Brigitte Troadec, and their children, Sébastien, 21, and Charlotte , 18 years old.
He then dismembered, eviscerated and burned the bodies of his victims to whom he blamed the theft of a hypothetical treasure of gold bars.

The prosecution had requested life imprisonment with a 22-year safety sentence.
At the end of two weeks of debates, the Loire-Atlantique Assize Court had retained the alteration of discernment, thus allowing him to benefit from a mitigation of sentence.
