The Filipino maid claimed that she was repeatedly sexually harassed by male employers while working in Hong Kong, including that her male employer suddenly entered the bathroom naked while taking a bath, and that the male employer had masturbated in front of her and asked her to watch pornography together.
The maid filed a lawsuit in the District Court on behalf of the Equal Opportunity yesterday (20th) and filed a lawsuit under the Sex Discrimination Ordinance, demanding the employer to make a written apology to her and compensate her 170,000 yuan for emotional trauma.
The claimant is the Filipino domestic helper Licayo, Jinna Dimino, and the respondent is the teacher Scully and Sean Joseph of the Fengxi Liao Runchen Memorial School.
The Filipino domestic helper was employed by the teacher from September 2017 to February 2019 and took care of his 3 children and wife at his home in Tianliao Village, Yuen Long.
The male employer walked around naked at home many times
From October 2017 to January 2019, the victim was repeatedly sexually harassed by his former employer. He often entered the bathroom naked while the victim was taking a bath. He refused to allow the Filipino maid to lock the door while taking a bath because of the convenience of his children’s need to use the bathroom. Reluctantly comply, and the former employer can see the naked victim through the transparent shower door.
The former employer once took advantage of his wife to leave Hong Kong with his children and wandered naked in his residence many times.
Ask the maid to show her breasts
He borrowed words from the victim to bring water to him and masturbate in front of her. She panicked and immediately lowered the water and left.
He also used a cell phone message to ask the victim to step out of her room and watch pornographic videos with him.
The former employer also made several unwelcome sexual demands and remarks. For example, when the Filipino domestic helper traveled with him to Macau, he asked him to show his breasts at the hotel.
The victim claimed 150,000 yuan for the emotional trauma caused by the sexual harassment, and 20,000 yuan for the abuse of her employer’s power to exploit her. She demanded a total of 170,000 yuan from the former employer and a written apology.
