You just celebrated your 5th wedding anniversary when people in West Germany lost their lives.

Cihan and Michaela Zeyrek from Markt Schwaben want to help.

The taxi company from Markt Schwaben has set up an aid convoy.

Markt Schwaben

- “We're actually doing really well here right now,” Cihan and Michaela Zeyrek had said to each other just recently.

The couple from Markt Schwaben just celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary.

And on this occasion, as Cihan (36) puts it, seemed like a "privilege" to them.

Almost at the same time, of course, the couple experienced on their special day and afterwards on television and other media, like many others, what was going on in West Germany.

In addition, Michaela Zeyrek (35), who is quite well connected via Instagram, received a call for help in this way - from the flood area on the Ahr.

All of this combined spontaneously motivated the parents of a two-and-a-half-year-old son to want to do something here.

Only take with you what is really needed

"Afterwards we talked a lot about each other and asked experts what was really needed," reports Cihan Zeyrek, who runs a taxi company in Markt Schwaben. In the meantime, a district-wide aid campaign initiated by the couple has started, in which, thanks to Zeyrek's professional network, taxi colleagues from Hohenbrunn and Munich are also involved.

The Swabian entrepreneur has booked three 3.5-tonne trucks at a special price from Enterprise car rental company, and he also wants to make his own large-capacity taxi available to transport as many relief goods as possible during the night from Saturday to Sunday (July 24th to 25th) Ahr to drive.

His brother-in-law Koray Turan, his cousin Samed Tunctekin and his Poinger colleague and friend Mauritz made themselves available as drivers.

If necessary, a fifth vehicle can also be set in motion.

Companies from the district support the campaign

The private initiative is supported by the Schweiger brewery, the Bäuerle car dealership, Alois Rupprich and “Markt Schwaben 2030” and many more.

Zeyrek says the willingness to help is so great that he runs the risk of forgetting some supporters when listing them.

Many of his customers have already contacted us.

It is now clear what is to be transported.

Namely: baby food, diapers, baby wipes, baby bottles (new if possible), handkerchiefs, hygiene items, working flashlights, batteries, trash bags in rolls, moving boxes, instant coffee powder, children's juices, biscuits, long-life milk, milk rolls and ready meals in Cans.

The list was given to him and his wife.

“We cannot and do not want to transport everything else,” says the native of Munich with Turkish roots.

Donations are best

The

willingness to help

, one hears these days after the flood disaster in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia, is very great nationwide.

Sometimes so huge that a lot has already been transported to the West that cannot be used there.

A request from development cooperation in the Public Safety and Municipalities / Fire and Disaster Protection Department in the Ebersberg district office yesterday revealed:

The people in the disaster area would prefer to donate money

.

The local disaster control units know best what is needed and what is not, said district spokeswoman Evelyn Schwaiger yesterday.

All renowned aid campaigns offer bank accounts.

In Finsing at Hauptstrasse 22. The steam bar at Marienplatz 14 in Ebersberg is also a point of contact, and relief supplies can also be handed in to MJ Cars and Parts at Hauptstrasse 19 in Tulling.

If you want to support the initiative in the area of grafing, you should contact the number (0176) 64 18 52 23 at short notice on Saturday, says Cihan Zeyrek.

You can then find out more details there.

Aid goods go directly to those affected, promise the initiators

The Zeyrek couple, it was said on the EZ phone yesterday,

will drive

the goods from the Ebersberg district directly to the

victims of

the flood disaster and not to local distribution centers. And they will also document the handover.
