Schliersee - It's been a quarter of a century since Hans Sinseder was ordained a priest.

The Schliersee pastor has a special wish for the anniversary.

From acolyte to bank clerk to nurse to pastor.

It has been 25 years since the Schliersee clergyman Hans Sinseder walked the last part of this path.

In 1996 Cardinal Wetter ordained him as a priest in Freising Cathedral.

The Schliersee-Neuhaus parish association has now celebrated the anniversary - with church administrations, parish councils, local associations and mayors.

The festive service with deacon Alois Winderl was followed by a small standing reception - due to the corona.

Pastor Sinseder has never regretted his step

Sinseder says that he has never regretted taking the step of starting the late career seminar at the age of 30.

"For me that meant an increase." After 15 years as pastor in Zolling (Freising district), he was recalled to Schliersee in 2015.

His first appearance there, before he actually took office, was the parish festival on the occasion of the renovation of St. Sixtus Church.

A milestone for the parish at that time.

Schliersee last reached another with the inauguration of the “Place of Remembrance”, with which the Annaberg memorial plaque disappeared from the wall of the vineyard chapel (we reported).

A more secular problem that Sinseder was confronted with when he came to the Oberland.

Not why people choose pastoral care.

Biggest professional wish: an administrative manager for the parish association

Sinseder would also like to invest more time in his calling. And if he had a career wish on the occasion of his jubilee as a priest, it would probably be for an administrative manager. "We have been working on it for two or three years," says Sinseder. "As a pastor, you are confronted with a lot of bureaucraticism." An administrative manager could help, says the clergyman. Such a post would not even burden the local parishes financially, but would be paid for by the diocese, explains Sinseder. This already exists in other parish associations, and last but not least, the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising is also relying on a reorganization of the staff (we reported). Ultimately, however, the decision rests with the local church foundations, according to Sindeder Schliersee would be willing toBut he has not yet been able to convince Neuhaus. "I don't quite understand why the ordinariate doesn't give us more freedom of action."

Continue working until 90? "I do my best."

The priest still has a few years to promote his performance. Sinseder is 65 years old, and as a rule, pastors are released from their duties as parish leaders at the age of 70, which eliminates the annoying and time-consuming bureaucracy. "The cardinal wrote to me that he expects another 25 years from me," reports Sinseder with a smile. “But whether I am still capable of this at 90?” Asks the pastor, who grew up in Dorfen in the Erding district. Of course, I would like to stay active - for example as a pastor for the elderly or in homes. Sinseder is also aware that not everyone has access to children and adolescents at such an age. Younger people are probably in demand. What Sinseder brings directly to the topic of young talent. Most recently he was a guest at a primacy in his former parish - one of his acolytes had been ordained a priest. "A very nice event."

But the bad news followed immediately. The young men of the seminary told him that there will be no ordination next year in the archdiocese. “It has not happened since I can remember.” Except in 1995, however, it was because the pastoral course was extended by a year. The following year twelve priests were ordained. One of them: Hans Sinseder.
