The victim went missing after leaving a hotel in Tsing Yi yesterday (20th) morning. His family reported the case to the police on the same day.

The police officers later seized the suicide note of the deceased in Tsing Yi and temporarily listed the case of the body discovery. After that, the deceased's body was transferred to the mortuary by the workers.


The 28-year-old deceased, Cheng Zhihui, was a missing person. He went missing after leaving the hotel on Tsing Yi Road yesterday morning. After the police reported his family to report the incident, he issued a tracing appeal today. Unexpectedly, the victim was found dead in a hotel room in Temple Street, Yau Ma Tei. .

According to sources, Zheng used to work as an editor at a newspaper before he was alive. He had left home and checked into a hotel on Tsing Yi Road earlier.

As of 5 o'clock yesterday morning, the smell of smoke came out of Zheng's room. The hotel staff patted the door and no one responded. After opening the door, there was no one in the room, except for a pot of burnt charcoal.

After checking the closed-circuit television, it was found that Zheng had left the hotel by taxi earlier.

The incident occurred at about 12 noon today. The police received a report from the staff of the hotel involved in Temple Street, Yau Ma Tei, stating that a male guest was lying on the floor of the room covered in blood.

At that time, the staff was entering the room to take care of the room and opened the door to reveal the incident.

The police and ambulancemen arrived at the scene and confirmed that the victim died at the scene.

Sources at the scene said that the police found that the male victim had a 10-inch stab wound on his neck, three stab wounds on his left hand, and multiple wounds on his feet.

The police blocked the scene and searched the closed-circuit television investigation.

It is understood that according to CCTV footage, the victim checked into the hotel alone at 6 o'clock in the morning yesterday. During this period, he went out for a short time and then returned to the hotel. No one else entered his room.

While the victim was out, he suspected that he had bought a 7-inch kitchen knife in a nearby supermarket.

The police seized a knife at the scene and also seized the suicide note of the deceased in Tsing Yi during the investigation. It is initially believed that the victim was suicidal and injured himself with the knife in the hotel. The cause of his death needs further investigation.

By 8 pm, the police had searched for evidence for nearly 8 hours, and then workers arrived at the scene and removed the body of the deceased from the hotel and sent it to the mortuary.

The case is temporarily found in the body, and the cause of death is to be determined after an autopsy.
