The bill, contested by the opposition, reflects the announcements of July 12 by Emmanuel Macron, of the vaccination obligation for treated

"If the virus could watch us, I think tonight he would be quite happy and he would pour himself a little beer!"

“Annoyed Olivier Véran Wednesday in full hemycicle.

Discussions once again lasted much of the night on Wednesday, as the government hopes for an express adoption of the bill extending the health pass by the end of the weekend.

While the Delta variant of Covid-19 maintains the pressure, the National Assembly must resume consideration of the bill on Thursday.

The oppositions will not let go.

Accusing the oppositions of "making the debates last", Olivier Véran is annoyed: "If the virus could look at us, I think that tonight, he would be quite happy and he would help himself a small beer!"

Of the thousand amendments tabled, only a hundred were considered on Wednesday evening.

The only change validated on Wednesday evening was to specify that the health pass for international travel will only be requested over 12 years old.

This is too little progress for the Minister of Health.

"I do not like the health pass tool" but "to govern is to choose" and "that is courage in politics, it is not to make debates last", he tackled under accusations of lack of doses or contradictions on barrier gestures.

He was not the only Wednesday to find the debates too long in the face of the urgency.

"Take your time, the virus will not wait for him," said LREM reporter Jean-Pierre Pont ironically.

"Many no longer understand anything"

The temperature had climbed during the interventions of Martine Wonner, the elected covidosceptic who had urged the demonstrators against the health pass on Saturday in Paris to "make the seat of parliamentarians".

Opening Wednesday, the Minister of Health Olivier Véran targeted anti-vaccines, while Covid-19 contaminations reached 21,000 in the last 24 hours.

At the same time, the minister paid tribute to the "country which holds its own", to the majority of French people who "do not vocifer".

But if there were only the "antivax" to upset the government ... Among parliamentarians, and this even in the majority, some point to the lack of clarity of the text and the government policy.

"Today the messages are misguided and many do not understand anything any more", reported Christophe Blanchet (MoDem), in reference to the idea that the pass could bring down the mask.

The isolation measure still very divisive

In committee last night, the deputies agreed to postpone the health pass for 12-17 year olds to the end of September;

a measure already postponed for the first time.

But it is the issue of compulsory isolation for patients that goes wrong with some LREMs.

Some slingers gave voice.

On the other hand, the vaccination obligation extended to caregivers, firefighters or even professionals working with the elderly is widely supported, excluding the extreme right and the extreme left.

It is on the extension of the sanitary pass that right and left have reserved their banderillas. LR deputies are calling for "flexibility", with reduced fines and an exemption for those who have received a first dose of vaccine - proposal rejected, Olivier Véran indicating that a single dose leads to a risk reduction of only 30%. The Socialists, them, reject the pass and prefer a "compulsory vaccination" of adults against the Covid "by October 1". The CNIL has just asked the Parliament to "define" the new device.

During the meeting, Marine Le Pen (RN) joked about the government's promises two months ago which, “on all counts, had said that it would not extend the health pass to daily activities”. Communists and rebels are moving towards a global vote against the bill, rejecting "attacks" on individual freedoms.
