Low salaries, mistreatment, poor working conditions and a constant tendency to minimize staff complaints.

Managers, cooks, cashiers, all the workers of the fast food establishment suffered abuse from the owners, until one day the anger broke out

.

United, nine employees of a Burger King in Lincoln (United States) slammed the door and resigned.

"We wanted to put up a sign to say, I'm sorry, there's really no one here

," former general manager

Rachael Flores

told KLKN.

She was the one who started

the revolution that the rest of the employees accompanied.

Last Friday, July 9,

Rachael was still in her position, after having delivered her resignation letter advising that the next two weeks would be her last.

He got tired of having to deal, as a reference of the premises, with the constant loss of personnel due to poor working conditions, and

at the same time the repeated rejections of the owners to his claims.

"We wanted to put up a sign to say, I'm sorry, there really isn't going to be anybody here."

She had to fill the gaps left by resignations by extending her working hours until exhausted, she resigned.

But he was not the only one, eight more employees joined his resignation and that was how the day came when there was no one available

to open the premises.

And Rachael decided to announce it in a big way.

As he explained, he wanted the poster to be a warning sign for customers that, due to the massive resignations, they would not be able to serve anyone.

But at the same time, a way to expose their bosses.

However, she wasn't expecting social media to do its part of the job.

"It was kind of a top management joke. That was put yesterday (Friday, July 9) before we opened, and

I didn't think anyone was going to notice, because we only did it on one of the restaurant signs, but then it began to go viral on Facebook

, "the young woman explained.

Flores and Kylee Johnson, two former employees.

Given the great repercussion that the issue took, the authorities called: "

I received a call from my senior management and they told me that I had to eliminate it

.

"

However, there was no way to stop the snowball that was getting bigger and bigger.

Lack of personnel, mistreatment and eternal working hours

Flores had been the manager of the premises since January and since then he had to deal with problems that nobody heard:

"They have been through so many district managers since I was general manager

,

" he

explained.

"No one came to the store to help me. They are completely removed from this reality."

Flores said he had employees working in the kitchen without air conditioning for weeks.

At one point, the kitchen reached over 90 degrees and she ended up in the hospital for dehydration.

Your boss's response?

"He told me I was being a baby."

Kylee Johnson

, another of the employees who went with Flores, told how difficult it was to work there.

"If I didn't quit earlier it was to help Rachael. She is my best friend. She has been with me for a long time.

I just want to help her as much as I can. I knew what was going on staff-wise. So we were waiting for more people to come. but we can't get anyone. "

Johnson and Flores agreed that

the restaurant's kitchen was understaffed and that they often had three to four people working during their lunch break

.

Flores said he worked 50 to 60 hours a week and indicated that it was not safe to have such a small staff.

Regarding the cartel move, the former employees said that senior management did not know that they had that play prepared.

At the same time they pointed out that they spent a whole day planning and joking about how they could put that sign together and then, the next day, they were encouraged and hung it up.

That same day the boss of Flores told

him to give him the keys and not to go to the place anymore.

Havelock's Burger King is open, Flores said.

He also pointed out that the problem of lack of staff is still in force and that new employees are leaving within days of starting their shifts.

A Burger King representative told DailyMail.com that they are working to resolve the dispute:

"The work experience described at this location is not in line with our brand values. Our franchisee is investigating this situation to make sure it does not happen. in the future".
