Today, the Ministries of Education and Culture, in cooperation with the Revolutionary Youth Union, held a musical celebration entitled “The Song of Joy” in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Damascus, on the occasion of President Bashar al-Assad’s swearing in of the constitutional oath.
The event includes the presentation of the lyrical performance “Anthem of Joy” by the “Orpheus” orchestra, led by Maestro Andre Maalouli, written by Kamal Skiker and directed by Adnan Al-Azrouni, in addition to folkloric paintings by the youth of the homeland that embody the Syrian heritage and harmonize with the orchestra’s playing to emulate the national situation of the Syrian youth and their adherence to their homeland Syria.
In a statement to SANA, Ali al-Abbas, the designated head of the Revolutionary Youth Union, stressed the importance of this event because it comes on the occasion of President Bashar al-Assad's performance of the constitutional oath, as it included the nation's youth from all Syrian governorates, pointing out that the folkloric paintings they presented embodied the Syrian heritage and came in harmony with the orchestra's songs that simulate The national situation of Syrian youth and their adherence to their homeland, Syria, to play together the anthem of joy.
Al-Abbas explained that these events come within the framework of an integrated action plan for the leadership of the Revolutionary Youth Union to attract young talents, noting that the youth of the country, during the presidential elections, expressed through their presence in the squares the sincerity of belonging to the homeland and the leader of the country.
The event was attended by the Ministers of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Muhammad Hassan Qatana, and the State for People’s Assembly Affairs, Engineer Maloul Al-Hussein in the Caretaker Government, the Governor of Damascus Countryside, Engineer Moataz Abu Al-Nasr Jamran, and a number of heads of popular organizations, professional unions and representatives of party branches in the governorates.
