After formalizing his candidacy for national deputy for the Together alliance in the province of Buenos Aires, Diego Santilli presented this Thursday
his resignation as deputy head
of the Buenos Aires government to dedicate himself to the electoral campaign.
The declination was elevated to the local Legislature a few minutes after the completion of the act that Santilli led at the City Bell Golf and Equestrian Club to launch his application to compete in the STEP on September 12.
"The electoral process that is coming requires a dedication of such magnitude that it can undermine the exercise of the Vice Head of Government with which the citizens have honored me," says the resignation letter that was presented at the entrance table of the Buenos Aires Legislature.

Santilli thus leaves the post of deputy head of government, which he arrived in a first term in 2015 as a running mate of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, with whom he renewed in 2019 for four more years.
The resignation, meanwhile, will also be replicated to the position at the head of the Buenos Aires Ministry of Justice and Security, where he arrived in November 2018, after the departure of Martín Ocampo as a result of a scandal with the Superclásico between River and Boca during the final of the Libertadores Cup.
At the event in La Plata, where he was accompanied by leaders of Together for Change, such as Larreta, Elisa Carrió, Patricia Bullrich and mayors, Santilli anticipated that he was going to "tour the 135 municipalities of Buenos Aires" as part of his electoral campaign, thus that hinted at his departure from the Buenos Aires administration in advance.

together with Mauricio Macri in the City to face the electoral campaign to occupy a seat in the Lower House, although, unlike Santilli, it was for represent the same district.
Although the vice-chief has a residence in the City to date, last year he changed his address to the municipality of Tigre, which, strictly speaking, opens the possibility to apply in Buenos Aires territory.
