With the introduction of the male voice assistant, all "ziggy" have to be strong.

As Amazon announced, the female voice output will be supplemented by a male one.

Alexa will not be abolished, but will remain an option that can be changed in the settings in the future.

For this purpose, users in the USA can already choose between the options “New” and “Original”.

If you don't like both names, you can also choose between “Amazon”, “Echo” or “Computer” in the settings under “Your device” -> “Activation word”.

Why Amazon chooses the name "Ziggy" for the new version of its voice assistant is not known.

Maybe Ziggy fits Amazon's corporate identity, offering customers everything from A (Alexa) to Z (Ziggy).

"Ziggy" shouldn't stay that way in the future either.

Amazon is in talks with various stars in the USA who are supposed to lend their voice to the voice assistant.

In the future, customers could order food from former US basketball player Shaquille O'Neal or ask actress Melissa McCarthy ("Gilmore Girls") about the weather.
