More than 20 dead in riots in two prisons in Ecuador 0:55

A policewoman was raped in the middle of one of the two riots registered in two prisons in Ecuador, the Ministry of Government and the National Police reported this Thursday.
In a joint communiqué, they described the act as "reprehensible" and affirmed that they will take the matter to justice to punish those responsible for "this reprehensible and violent" attack.
The statement did not detail in which jail the event occurred.
President Guillermo Lasso and the Minister of Government, Alexandra Vela, will arrive "at the scene of the events in the next few hours."
So far, the riot registered on Wednesday in a jail in Guayaquil, Guayas province, has left eight dead and 11 injured (three policemen and eight inmates), according to government information.
The riot that occurred in Latacunga, Cotopaxi province, left 38 wounded (33 inmates and 5 policemen) and 13 dead.
"The Ministry of Government is working on a comprehensive intervention plan for the Ecuadorian prison system," the text adds.

According to the government, different operations managed to arrest one person and recapture 66. In addition, they indicate that there is a security agent "detained" in Guayaquil.
