The prosecution opposed the defendant’s release on bail and requested that the case be postponed until September 30 for further hearing.

The defendants are now applying for bail.


The four defendants include: Yang Qingqi (former chief writer, signed "Li Ping"), Chen Peimin (female, former vice president), Feng Weiguang (former English version executive) and Lin Wenzong (former executive editor).

They were accused of conspiring in Hong Kong with Apple Daily Co., Ltd., Apple Daily Printing Co., Ltd., Apple Internet Co., Ltd., Zhang Jianhong, Luo Weiguang, Li Zhiying and others between July 1, 2020 and April 3, 2021. , Requesting foreign or overseas institutions, organizations, and personnel to impose sanctions, blockades, or other hostile actions against the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or the People's Republic of China.

The prosecution wanted to adjourn the case because there are a large number of electronic equipment to be tested, including computers, servers and phones, and there are 25 boxes of documents and nearly 1,000 items, and some personal and institutional financial data need to be checked.
