It starts again in five days: The open-air cinema in the seaside resort of Starnberg shows not only the best films of the season, but also some classics and even a world premiere.
Four of the 30 cinema experiences will end with a live concert.

“In the coming weeks, 30 great films will be shown with a wonderful view,” said initiator Helwig at a press conference yesterday morning in the seaside resort. "There is something for everybody. We play classics like 'Die Reifeprüfung', previews, but also highlights of the season like 'Kaiserschmarrndrama'. “The latest film adaptation of a Rita Falk crime novel shows Helwig four times. “On Sunday, August 1st, Gerhard Wittmann, the actor from Franz Eberhofer's brother Leopold, will come as a guest. He will be available to answer questions in the film talk, ”said Helwig.
The audience can especially look forward to the world premiere of the film “Color Your Mind”, which will be shown on Monday, August 9, after the Oscar winner “Nomadland”. The three and a half minute long silent film by the Wörthsee producer Axel Werner is all about music and dance. “The title says it all,” said Werner yesterday. The freedom of the imagination - that is what the film is supposed to portray.
"On Tour - Z'Fuaß" is the provisional conclusion of the open-air cinema.
The film by the Seeshaupter director Walter Steffen is about the jazz duo "Schriefl und Bär", who wandered 200 kilometers through southern Germany with their instruments in their luggage and stopped in every village and on every alpine pasture and played a concert.
"When I heard about the two musicians' plans, I was immediately enthusiastic," said Steffen.
In addition to the film screening on Monday, August 16, the duo will also give a concert.
The open-air cinema experience is not over with “On Tour - Z'Fuaß”.
Two days later, the opening ceremony of the Five Lakes Film Festival takes place in the seaside resort.
Both series of events will end on Tuesday, August 31st.
"It is important to me that people feel safe," said Helwig.
500 guests are allowed outside, but only with assigned seats.
Watching films on the picnic blanket is taboo this year.
In addition, it is mandatory to wear a mask on the way to the seat.
The corona rules are nothing new for Helwig and his team.
"We tried everything out last year."

Admission is between 8 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., starting at nightfall.
