The vaccination rate in Hong Kong continues to rise.

"Hong Kong 01" received a complaint from a vaccinator. A 46-year-old man with no history of allergies was involved. Four days after receiving the second dose of Kexing vaccine, he suddenly developed a rash on his skin. After receiving treatment, the rash was already present. Great improvement.

Some specialists pointed out that most of the allergens have been exposed in childhood. Therefore, sensitive people will have allergic reactions after the first injection. The rash occurs only after two injections, which is rare.

The Department of Health said that it will refer the case to an expert committee to determine the relationship with the vaccine.

The expert committee co-convened Kong Fanyi and said that the relationship between the case and the vaccine has not been assessed. It is recommended that citizens who are sensitive to the vaccine take a third shot in the future and take a skin test beforehand.

Mr. Li, 46, a kitchen worker, told "Hong Kong 01" that the first dose of Kexing vaccine was injected on June 7 and the second dose on July 7 this year.

He developed a red rash on his belly, waist and neck on the night of July 11, and then spread to his feet.

He went to North Lantau Hospital for medical treatment on July 15 and was transferred to the internal medicine department of Princess Margaret Hospital in the early morning of the same night. After he was injected with an anti-allergy needle, most of the rash subsided, but he was still hospitalized until last night (21st). The situation is stable.

Mr. Li said that he had never been vaccinated with an inactivated vaccine with the same technology as Kexing vaccine in the past, and there has been no history of allergies. He questioned whether the rash was related to the vaccine.

The Hospital Authority has reported to the Department of Health

The Kowloon West Network of the Hospital Authority stated that the patient had skin rash, which met the reporting criteria for serious or unexpected abnormal events received from the new crown vaccination and had been reported to the Department of Health.

The department said that it will handle the case according to the mechanism, that is, refer the case to the new crown vaccine clinical event evaluation expert committee for follow-up.

Infection and Infectious Diseases specialist Lin Weixun pointed out that most allergens have been exposed in childhood, so sensitive people will have allergic reactions after the first injection, and the patient will have a rash only after the second injection. The situation is more rare.

He believes that skin testing has limitations. Taking antibiotics as an example, "As you are exposed to drugs for a period of time (sensitivity index) will decrease, you may not be able to fully detect your personal reaction if you do a simple skin test, and there is a chance of false negatives." Doctors can make comprehensive judgments based on clinical data.

Kong Fanyi: The causal relationship between the case and the vaccine has not yet been assessed

The expert committee jointly convened Kong Fanyi to reply to "Hong Kong 01", saying that the causal relationship between the relevant case and the vaccine has not been assessed yet. If the public has proven to be sensitive to the vaccine and they need to receive a third injection in the future, they are advised to take a skin test before the injection .

According to the "New Coronary Vaccine Safety Surveillance Report", between May 31 and June 30 this year, Kexing Vaccine recorded 210 other abnormal incident reports, 22 of which involved skin rashes.
