Yesterday, two cases arrived in Hong Kong from Saudi Arabia. The patient was the child of the local consul in Hong Kong and lived in Tanggong Pavilion, Tai Koo Shing.

The consul's 13-year-old daughter became ill on the 17th of this month with the L452R variant virus strain.

According to the patient’s whereabouts information released by the authorities, she had visited Citygate’s famous storehouse and Tung Chung cable car station on Sunday, and also stayed at the Korean restaurant Goobne Chicken in Citygate. The 11-year-old brother had visited last Saturday. Outside the Peak Galleria, he even visited a McDonald's branch in the mall. Before his initial diagnosis the day before, he "stolen" again to the second phase of Cityplaza near his residence.

A government spokesman replied today that during an investigation by the Department of Health, it was discovered that they had gone out during self-isolation and violated the exemption conditions.

The Department of Health has taken immediate action to disqualify them as exempt persons and send them to mandatory quarantine.

The Protocol Office also contacted the relevant consulate immediately, and the other party promised to fully cooperate with the government's quarantine measures, and has reminded its consular staff to comply with relevant quarantine regulations.
