(ANSA) - TARANTO, 22 JUL - A 75-year-old man stabbed and killed his 71-year-old wife in his home and attempted suicide with the same weapon.
It happened in the evening in Taranto, in Salinella, in via Boiardo.
The man, currently hospitalized at the 'Santissima Annunziata' hospital in Taranto, alert and conscious, is guarded by the carabinieri awaiting the final results of the judicial police investigations that are trying to reconstruct the story.
The murderer, Cosimo Marseglia, a retired former Ilva, would have inflicted several blows on his wife, Maria Greco, a housewife, then he would have turned the weapon against himself, getting several cuts. When help arrived, he lay on the floor bleeding but still alive. He was thus transported to the hospital in red code and his condition is serious. The investigations of the carabinieri are coordinated by the deputy attorney on duty Enrico Bruschi.
