Two years have passed since the attack at 721 Yuen Long Station the year before. The police have so far arrested 63 people, including 48 "whites" and 15 "non-whites". In the incident, a total of 15 people were charged with riots and other crimes, including Lin Zhuoting, then a member of the Legislative Council.
The case of 8 persons charged in the "white clothed men" camp has been concluded, of which 7 were convicted and sentenced to 3 to 7 years in prison. The case involving 7 defendants including Lin Zhuoting is scheduled for March 27, 2023. Trial begins on the day.
Of the 48 "people in white" arrested, only 8 were indicted. They were charged with riots and wounding, including Wang Zhirong, Huang Yingjie, Lin Guanliang, Lin Qiming, Deng Huaichen, Wu Weinan, Deng Yingbin and Cai Liji. The case had been tried earlier. Among them, only Wang Zhirong was freed from crime, and the remaining 7 were to be imprisoned.

The seven defendants in the case are: Lin Zhuoting (43 years old), Yu Jiahao (35 years old, customer service worker), Chen Yongxi (37 years old, refusing to provide occupations), Ye Xinsheng (31 years old, social worker), Kwong Haolin (26 years old, kitchen), Yin Zhongming (48 years old, electrical technician) and Yang Lang (26 years old, unemployed).
They were also charged with a crime of riot, which accused them of participating in the riot with other unknown persons in the lobby of MTR Yuen Long Station on July 21 last year.
