“Walls of Solitude” is a novel by the writer Khalil Al-Ajeel that presents confronting terrorism and its repercussions, and is exposed to confronting Corona through the story of a young man who lived a number of humanitarian and social situations in the city of Damascus after he was displaced there because of the terrorist plots he was exposed to.
The novel summarizes the life of a soldier in the army who lost his arm and his home because of the war, so he was forced to live in isolation from people and suffer alienation, loneliness, pain and distance from his city of Hasaka, and after moving from one place to another, he found his refuge in Damascus.
The novel, through the movement of its hero in Damascus and his going to his house and to the kindergarten café, brings up the course of many events and poses what Syria has been exposed to and the problems faced by Syrian society.
The protagonist, who faced poverty, homelessness, and betrayal, experienced multiple relationships and harsh conditions in his life, lost many dreams and had to go through many rituals, starting with female relationships and ending with drinking.
At the end of the novel, the novel reaches the outbreak of Corona and how to work to resist it and the events overlap with each other through a few characters and heroes of the novel, to end in the hysteria of pain and pain and the search for a way to get rid of it.
The novel issued by Baal Printing and Publishing House referred to it as a novel in the introduction to the Social Solidarity Award in the Time of Corona for novelistic creativity, which was announced by Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani, expressing the need to activate culture no matter how much society is exposed to pain, suffering, diseases and terrorism because culture supports the human being to be able to respect his existence and defend about him.
