Anti-health pass protests: what to expect on Saturday?

Several gatherings are planned throughout France while the extension of the health pass has been voted in the National Assembly.


Calls to demonstrate against the health pass are multiplying on social networks.

Its extension was voted on Thursday, July 22 in the National Assembly and must be examined in the Senate.

Several political leaders have already called for mobilization, such as François Asselineau, president of the Union Populaire Républicaine (UPR) or Florian Philippot, president of the Patriots.

More than 110,000 demonstrators marched across France last Saturday.

At the cry of "

Freedom

" and "

Macron resignation

", they denounced a

"health dictatorship"

while the health pass will be mandatory to go to restaurants and cafes.

They denounce a form of compulsory vaccination in disguise.

The deputies Nicolas Dupont-Aignan and Martine Wonner, the singer Francis Lalanne or the former muse of the yellow vests, Jacline Mouraud, were at the head of the procession.

More than a hundred gatherings are planned throughout France.

In Paris, three processions are expected.

The first, at Les Invalides, will combine caregivers and yellow vests.

A political rally will take place on the Place du Trocadéro and a third parade will start from the Place de la Bastille.

In Lyon, Place Bellecour will fill up from 3 p.m. against 2 p.m. for the Old Port of Marseille and noon for the Beaux-Arts in Lille.

If all the planned events are not declared, the participants will come from different backgrounds, groups of yellow vests reactivated recently, but also caregivers who oppose compulsory vaccination.

In several publications on social networks, a call to come dressed in white is broadcast to "

avoid police attacks

" (sic).

Wednesday evening, a demonstration of yellow vests and sanitary blockade degenerated in front of the Senate in Paris.

Several demonstrators verbally attacked a journalist from BFM TV who was able to get away with the support of two bodyguards.

Prime Minister Jean Castex has promised to be “

intractable

” towards the violence.
