After the argument between two underage youths in Lenggries, in which one pulled a knife on Thursday and seriously injured the other, there is great consternation in the village.

- "This is a very tragic incident," said Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher (FW) on Friday. He wished the victim a speedy recovery and the family members a lot of strength to deal with the incident. The act had occurred shortly before 6 p.m. in the area of the train station. The police do not provide any information about the exact age of the two. The seriously injured victim was flown to a clinic by helicopter and operated on. According to the police headquarters of Upper Bavaria South, life is still in danger.
A large number of police, including a helicopter, were looking for the initially fugitive perpetrator.
A little later he reported to the police himself and was arrested without resistance in the area of the Isar bridge.
"The police car stopped ten meters in front of me with a blue light," reports a shocked Lenggrieser who happened to be an eyewitness.
Then he saw "one of the officers drew a gun" and two teenagers approached the police car.
"The boy immediately raised his hands and got down on his knees."
The public prosecutor applied for an arrest warrant against the perpetrator on Friday.
"This was not issued by the responsible youth judge, so that the accused is at large," said the deputy press spokeswoman for the Munich II public prosecutor.
Middle school crisis team in action
Mayor Klaffenbacher and Lenggries youth officer Sabine Gerg (SPD) were very affected on Friday. Klaffenbacher had found out about the fact on Thursday evening. “Nobody wants something like this to happen in their community.” The incident “shocked the whole of Lenggries,” says Gerg.
The police are covered with information about those involved. "There is no official information on this, but one of them seems to be attending our school," says Bernd Kraft, principal of the secondary school. That is why the school's in-house crisis team was mobilized on Friday, also because other young people had observed the argument and witnessed the knife attack. Because the year-end church services took place on Friday, the Protestant pastor Matthias Schricker and pastoral advisor Christoph Freundl were also on site. They had conversations with the young people and offered the students confidential one-on-one interviews. “The need was there,” reports the rector. Many young people are shocked. “There are a lot of rumors going around,” says the rector. The incident was also observed in the service that was celebrated together in the open air,thematized. The crisis team will also be available to the young people on Monday.
Young people should be able to come to terms with the situation
After the deed, all aid mechanisms seem to have “worked very well,” says youth officer Sabine Gerg, assessing the situation. She thanks the emergency services and the middle school team: “In the short term, you can say that the event has been well absorbed so far.” Gerg thinks it is important to offer the young people again to work through this incident further. In the coming days, people will think about which platform could be used for this. “In the medium term, however, the question arises for me as to what general options there are to prevent something like this from happening in the future,” says Gerg. “We have a well-functioning club structure in Lenggries, in which many children are in good hands.” But ultimately not everyone would be picked up with this offer. "And this is exactly where we as a community, as a society,but also as parents and offer opportunities. "
