Johannes Bruitkamp and Gabi Drechsler headed the Miesbach rescue dog team for four years.
Christian Schubert and Moni Heilmann are now taking over from them.
Miesbach
- As early as March, the members of the Miesbach district association of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) elected Christian Schubert to head the rescue dog squadron.
Thanks to the relaxed contact restrictions, the squadron could now meet, thank the outgoing management and wish Schubert and his deputy Moni Heilmann all the best.
Schubert, who works full-time as a self-employed IT consultant and lives in Neuhaus, has been an active member of the dog relay for a good four years.
“My wife and I decided to buy a dog and were also interested in working with him,” said Schubert, explaining his entry into the dog squad.
First, the 51-year-old and his wife supported the relay without, then - after successful testing - with their own dog.
When it came time to fill the post of relay leader, Schubert stood for election.
This took place online due to the pandemic.
During the Corona restrictions, the relay was allowed to meet on a small scale.
That was important, said Schubert, so that the twelve dogs that had already been tested and the remaining ten that are still in training remain ready for action.
