Terrible accident near Eschenlohe: while turning, a tractor crashed into a motorcycle, the biker had no chance.
Eschenlohe - As the Murnau police reported, a fatal traffic accident occurred on Thursday around 5:20 p.m. on the local road between Eschenlohe and Schwaigen.
A tractor driver (49) was heading towards the Autobahn shortly after crossing the B2 from Eschenlohe.
The man from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district turned left into a field.
Accident near Eschenlohe: motorcycle crashes into a hay trailer
At that moment, a 48-year-old from the Weilheim-Schongau district drove up on his motorcycle from the opposite direction.
He tried to brake but couldn't and crashed into the trailer of the tractor.
The man was badly injured.
He was able to be resuscitated by rescue workers, but then succumbed to his injuries.
The tractor driver was uninjured in the accident.
After a motorcycle accident: the road near Eschenlohe is closed for hours
There were three police patrols on site.
Three vehicles with 22 men from the Eschenlohe fire brigade were on site and provided support with cordoning off and other measures.
The road was completely closed until around midnight.
The recovery and securing of the tractor and motorcycle did not end until late at night.
There was a total of approx. 10,000 euros in property damage.
