Five key members of the Hong Kong Speech Therapists Federation, including the chairman, vice chairman, secretary, and treasurer, were arrested by the National Security Office of the police yesterday (22nd) for "conspiracy to publish seditious publications." The case involved 3 children's picture books.
According to the police, the National Security Department today (23rd) charged two persons with "conspiracy to print, publish, distribute, display and/or copy seditious publications" under Section 10(1)(c), 159A and 159C of the Criminal Offences Ordinance. The case of a 25-year-old and 27-year-old woman will appear in West Kowloon Magistracy this afternoon.
The remaining 3 persons were still detained for investigation.
It is understood that the two people who were charged were Li Wenling, chairman of the labor union, and Yang Yiyi, the vice chairman.

The National Security Department launched an arrest operation in various districts across Hong Kong yesterday morning, targeting someone suspected of publishing a number of seditious publications. During the operation, the police arrested 2 men and 3 women on charges of Article 9 and Article 10 of the Criminal Offences Ordinance.
