Heavy rains in Henan Province have been devastating for several days. As of Thursday (22nd), this round of heavy rains had caused 3 million people to be affected, at least 33 people were killed and 8 people were missing.
Chief Executive Carrie Lam posted a message on Facebook on Thursday to express deep condolences to the people of Henan Province.
In addition, all walks of life in Hong Kong also actively donated money and materials to support Henan's flood relief.

According to Xinhua News Agency, representatives of the Hong Kong National People’s Congress donated HK$1 million and wrote to the Standing Committee of the Henan Provincial People’s Congress stating, “Hong Kong compatriots are always concerned about the safety of Henan compatriots, and I would like to express my deep condolences to the victims and their relatives and the injured. My compatriots express their deep condolences and express their lofty respect to the rescuers who fought bravely."
The Friendship Association of Provincial CPPCC Members of the Port Area also organized all provincial CPPCC members and members of the port area to donate for disaster relief. As of Thursday evening, more than 100 provincial CPPCC members and members have donated a total of HK$4 million. The office will be sent to the relevant mainland authorities.
The Federation of Trade Unions also allocated 300,000 Hong Kong dollars for disaster relief. Chairman Wu Qiubei and Chairman Huang Guo handed over donation cheques to the Liaison Office on Thursday, which then forwarded them to the Henan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions.
Wu Qiubei said that the Federation of Trade Unions will launch an internal fundraising event later, calling on the members and members of the Federation of Trade Unions to support and show the spirit of mutual assistance between Hong Kong citizens and compatriots in the Mainland.
Other organizations and companies that have donated through the Liaison Office include: Hong Kong Federation of Fujian Associations donated HK$3.8 million; China Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. donated RMB 5 million in cash and emergency relief supplies worth RMB 5 million; Hong Kong Volunteer Alliance, Hong Kong The Volunteer Fund donated 3.5 million Hong Kong dollars; the Hong Kong Association for Poverty Alleviation and Promotion donated 1 million Hong Kong dollars; the Fok Ying Tung Foundation donated 10 million yuan.

Earlier, Emperor Group and its artists also announced donations to the "Henan Charity Federation" through the group's "Emperor Charity Fund".
