Two days after the official closing of the lists -on Saturday, July 24-,
Gustavo Posse
confirmed that
his candidacy is lowering
: now the intern of Juntos por el Cambio (retitled Juntos, a secas) is defined between two: Facundo Manes (UCR) and Diego Santilli (PRO).
"After intense inclusive work,
we put an end to the nomination
of our space. Early on we proposed that
radicalism should be the protagonist
alongside its allies rather than merely a spectator and
that objective was achieved
after the massive turnout for the internal election", said the
mayor of San Isidro
in a brief statement.
He continued: "Thus we also propose that citizens could not be subjected to the
humiliation
of taking them to a
mandatory survey
but rather to be effectively electors of the leaders that they consider most representative of their dreams and aspirations."
"This objective was also met - he continued in the text -
two lists
have been formalized
with leaders who will surely embody the will of a good part of the citizens of the Province of Buenos Aires."
Having pointed this out, Posse indicated that they make their "contribution" in
"
pursuit of
the necessary unity
of Together for Change."
"(We) are confident that this campaign for the Primary elections will have the height of the debate that the current reality demands to meet the next day with greater strength and determination to fight to improve the lives of Buenos Aires," he closed.
It was precisely this Thursday that Diego Santilli launched his candidacy for deputy for the province of Buenos Aires.
In keeping with the style of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, Santilli avoided direct confrontation with both the Government and his competitor in Juntos, Facundo Manes, although he questioned the situation complicated by the
economic crisis, the pandemic and insecurity.
"We are fed up with not being
able to
change or dream about more security, more work, less poverty.
We want to say enough, that's how it goes ”, said Santilli in the closing speech, at an open-air ceremony at noon at the
City Bell Equestrian Club.
The head of government imposed Santilli and María Eugenia Vidal City, a strategy initially resisted by Mauricio Macri, until the former president gave up
and ran to the dispute to coincide with his trip to Spain and Switzerland.
For his part, the neuroscientist shared an activity in San Miguel earlier this week with Emilio Monzó and the host Joaquín de la Torre, two leaders of Peronist origin who will be on his ballot.
Manes' activity at a child-family development center in Santa Brígida, San Miguel,
served as the first campaign photo
after he confirmed his candidacy for deputy earlier this month.
Maximiliano Abad - head of the Province Committee - and Alejandra Lorden, vice president of the UCR, were also there.
Manes will go a lot to the Conurbano, and also to some cities in the interior, after the closing of lists.
