The new classification will apply from Tuesday, July 27th, as the RKI announced on Friday, July 23rd.

According to the RKI, high incidence areas are areas with a particularly high risk of infection due to high incidences for the spread of SARS-CoV-2.

Anyone who enters from a high-incidence area and has not recovered or has been vaccinated must be quarantined for ten days.

Self-isolation can be shortened to five days with a negative corona test, proof of vaccination or proof of recovery.
