The honor of deserving firefighters, the commander's annual report and the presentation of the future fire station were the focus of the annual meeting of the Geisenbrunn volunteer fire brigade on Wednesday. The honor of deserving firefighters, the commander's annual report and the presentation of the future fire station were the focus of the annual meeting of the Geisenbrunn volunteer fire brigade on Wednesday.

If board member Willi Painhofer has his way, the new domicile will be ready in four years on the occasion of the 125th birthday.

Geisenbrunn - As reported, the changes to the zoning plan and the development plan were only recently being interpreted.

However, in contrast to many other projects, there will only be minor objections, Painhofer hopes.

“The Geisenbrunners are behind their fire brigade and they also know that we urgently need a new domicile.

That is why our wish remains to celebrate the anniversary in the new house. "

Commander Stefan Siegl, who presented the project to around 40 members in the Geisenbrunn restaurant, also emphasized that "there is no better plot of land for the fire-fighting equipment house".

It is centrally located and easily accessible from all sides, he said.

As for the missions in 2020, the Geisenbrunn fire brigade had to move far less over a longer period of time due to the pandemic and the reduction in road traffic, Siegl explained. In 2019 there were still 70 assignments and 1003 operating hours, this was reduced in the previous year to 47 assignments with a total of 412 operating hours. Among other things, 34 technical assistance was noted, including a bomb defuse, a deployment of hazardous substances, seven fire deployments and, finally, five false alarms caused by smoke detectors.

Representing the community, the deputy mayor Martin Fink took on the task of expressing thanks to the volunteers for their commitment.

“It is a real pleasure,” says Fink, “that many young people are also involved here”.

His appeal: “Stick with it.

Working in the fire department is a tough job.

But it also brings a lot of recognition and joy. ”The association has a total of 91 members, 37 of whom are passive and 54 are active as well as ten young people between 14 and 17 years of age.

Martin Sulzbacher was honored in the name of the district and Marco Fischbeck in his absence for 25 years of service.

Christian Kreisl received an award from Commandant Siegl for 30 active years.
