An Italian mountaineer died Thursday, July 22 after dropping out during the descent from a summit of the Mont-Blanc massif, on the Franco-Italian border, according to mountain rescue services.
A roped party of three Italian climbers was making a series of abseils on a rope during their descent from the Dent du Géant (4013 meters) when, around 4.30 p.m., this man born in 1955 and from Cortenova (Lombardy), fell around 3850 meters above sea level. 'altitude.
The Italian emergency services, immediately warned but unable to get there, requested the intervention of the High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM) of Chamonix.
He intervened with a doctor, who could not resuscitate the climber, said the PGHM.
