Nothing is missing in the new meeting room

Jetzendorf - The municipal council of Jetzendorf met on Tuesday evening in the old and later for the first time in the new town hall, the move took place as a separate item on the agenda.

First, however, the municipal parliament said goodbye to the old meeting room in the venerable town hall, which, in view of the fact that the committee had been enlarged to 16 council members since 2020, as well as the other offices, became too small.

Only the decision to move was made in the old town hall before the committee finally made its way to the new administration building a few meters away.

The conference bell was the only relic that Mayor Manfred Betzin took with him to the new conference table.

Although they were elected in March 2020, five councilors have never been allowed to sit at the old meeting table in the old town hall because of the corona pandemic, because the meetings were either moved to the top floor of the school or to the school gym during this time.

As for the old boardroom, the mayor recalled that from 1984 onwards, many debates had been held here with three different mayors over the years.

"I am proud of my predecessors," said Betzin, pointing out that it was time to take a step forward with the new town hall.

The new boardroom is of course much larger and equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.

"From the acoustics to the lighting, everything really fits," said Betzin happily.

The basic equipment of the new meeting room includes 14 chairs for the audience.

A table for the press, which has never existed before, was also considered when furnishing the room.

As for the date for the inauguration of the new stately administration building, there are still different opinions because of Corona.

While the mayor affirmed that the population should not wait too long to get to know the new house, there were also voices that argued that the inauguration celebrations should be postponed because of Corona.

CSU councilor Tobias Furtmayr, on the other hand, said: "If the town hall has been standing for a year, such an inauguration is old hat."

His parliamentary group colleague Lorenz Nagl added: "You don't know what the Corona will look like in 2022".

The mayor assumes that only a limited number of visitors are possible anyway.

He suggested leading smaller groups of visitors through the town hall, if necessary also on two or three dates to be set in advance.

There should also be a little something to drink here.

The local council finally unanimously agreed to the proposal of the mayor, who would also give an insight into the rooms of the old town hall during these tours and thus want to find out from the citizens what suggestions there are for the further use of the individual rooms.

“Is that the start for the citizens' workshop?” Asked Stefan Gottschalk from the Lampertshausen voter group and received the answer that the citizens should only be given an overview of the rooms available.

"It is enough if wishes and ideas are expressed," said Ruppert Leimberger (party independent) on the subject.

There is still uncertainty about the timing of the next citizens' meeting. The mayor questioned whether the autumn dates should continue to be held, or whether it would not make more sense to hold the town council shortly after the budget was drawn up in April or May. While there was still a digital replacement for a face-to-face citizens 'meeting in 2020 due to Corona, the municipal council is now assuming that the next citizens' meeting should be planned for October in the Ottilinger Hall.

Finally, an evening of honor for deserving fellow citizens was discussed, but the mayor of Jetzendorf does not want to announce the date for this until the next meeting of the municipal council. Manfred Betzin has already spoken out in favor of not getting too close to Christmas with this event. JOSEF OSTERMAIR
