OPINION | 50 is the new 30: every day is more true

2021-07-23T20:37:18.020Z

Is 50 the new 30? It is not a question, no, no, not a phrase repeated over and over again. It is an undeniable reality. And it is worth - and long live - the repetition of these words and concepts!

Are 50 the new 30? It is not a question, no, no, not a phrase repeated over and over again. It is an undeniable reality. And it is worth - and long live - the repetition of these words and concepts!

As I see it, in the year 2021, women aged 50 and over can practically decide the age they project. And just name a few celebrities who look fabulous and much younger, such as Jennifer Lopez (51), Sarah Jessica Parker (56), Cindy Crawford (55), Naomi Campbell (51), Halle Berry (54), Julia Roberts ( 53), Nicole Kidman (54), Jennifer Aniston (52), etc., etc., - in addition to other women much older chronologically such as Helen Mirren (75 years), Carolina Herrera (82), the indefatigable Janet Fonda (83) and Sharon Stone (63) -, who look like eternal women, ageless, divine, modern and full of life. This reality is wonderful! Don't you think?

And when talking to my good friend Carolina Herrera, who has a new image with white hair and looks divine (we've known each other since I was single and I'm already a happy grandmother!), She always repeats her intelligent observation about age: “ Mari, age is something that you carry in your head, in your emotions and it should not be a stereotype.

I always say it.

And age does not mean anything when there are things that you are passionate about ”.

Bravo, friend!

Because that's the way I think and that's how I mentally keep the calendar sheets.

And in this opinion article I love to tell you that throughout my career I have met the most bland and boring beautiful and young women in the universe (I prefer not to say names!), Just as I have met older women, absolutely beautiful, full of life, curiosity and a sense of humor, that have filled me with inspiration, as was Audrey Hepburn, whom I met when she was over 60 years old.

Other examples of this extraordinary type of women?

advertising

Princess Caroline of Monaco (64), Meryl Streep (72), Sophia Loren (86), Donna Karan (72), and Queen Elizabeth II herself, who at 95 is still driving her Land Rover and riding a horse!

What are the general aspects that I have seen in these women who have a strong and very good-looking birthday?

I have interviewed many of them and I have always noticed that they watch what they eat, walk and are active, they have a hobby and personal interests that they are passionate about, they are involved in the well-being of the world where they live, and they smile.

Plus many have told me that moderation is always very important!

And speaking of "curiosity", the key to that ageless youth, I return to the words of Carolina Herrera "Without curiosity, life is very boring. The day a woman stops being curious about her surroundings, she is abandoning the wonderful what it is to live. ”Agree 100%, don't you think?

And it is time to throw away the calendar and go for a walk and observe the world!

Worth it…
