A local supplier for Hattenhofen has been under discussion for a long time.
Now a market at the end of the village in the direction of Mammendorf would be possible.
But the location is outside.
Hattenhofen - you can't really call the shop a “supermarket”. Because it wouldn't pull in a chain. The Roß family is planning a grocery store when they completely rebuild an old stable and residential building on their property between Gartenweg and B 2. A "three-fold" offer is to be sold, with conventional products, organic goods and unpackaged food. “Three things” because there shouldn't be a sprawling supermarket pallet, but only three varieties from one product category.
The Roß family's plan has been discussed for a long time.
In addition to the shop, twelve apartments and a small stable for horses, chickens and goats are planned.
The problem: The old agricultural yard is outside.
Two years ago, the local council basically gave its okay for the project.
The district office had blocked a building in the outer area.
Is it possible with a statute?
Now the municipal council had submitted an application for the creation of a rounding-off statute.
This could create building rights at this location.
But the committee rejected this path.
"I think the project is great - but not outdoors," said Elvira Unger (UWG Haspelmoor).
Because in this way a reference case would be created and other traders could request something similar.
"Then we would have to say yes to everyone else too."
But the project is not supposed to die.
In a survey by the District Office, 83 percent of the Hattenhofen residents asked for a local supplier.
The municipality also wants to create living space.
Alexandra Klepper (UWG Haspelmoor) said: "Someone who has finished their training needs a two-room apartment."
Sieglinde Kennerknecht (Dorfgemeinschaft Hattenhofen) suggested a solution: "If we want to realize this project, we need a project-related development plan." With that, a lot can be clarified in advance: Is a local supplier in Hattenhofen economical?
Can a stable stand next to the planned apartments or is that too many emissions?
In the municipal council, it sounded that one can imagine a project-related development plan.
The turning lane from the B2 would be expensive
Should the business stand one day, the Roß family is planning a connection via the garden path.
You would need your own turning lane on the B 2 - and that costs around 250,000 euros.
The family claims that they have ceded the community on Gartenweg Grund in order to give two other businesses access to it.
At the end of the discussion, Vice-Mayor Elisabeth Trappmann (Dorfgemeinschaft Hattenhofen) and Hans Scherer (UWG Haspelmoor) emphasized that the community must also benefit from the project.
“Otherwise it is a pure interest plan.
That could also spark many other interests, ”said Trappmann.
