A new study published Thursday in the journal Science found that Australian cockatoos learned to open garbage containers to get food out, glancing at each other.
This phenomenon began a few years ago, when Australian scientist Richard Major recorded a video of a Sydney cockatoo opening the lid of a garbage can with its beak and foot to eat from the inside.
