Denver Hansen

is a young American who, like many in that country, had to fulfill tasks in the Middle East.

At the age of 25, in 2020 he had to pass the coronavirus pandemic in a place he never imagined: the desert of Afghanistan.

Extremely high temperatures, high humidity and a large amount of physical work, made this boy perhaps the only one who begged to spend some time locked up at home, like the rest.

However, while completing his tough tasks, he befriended a dog who

became a faithful friend.

Alone, bored, and battered by the heat, the friendly pet that shared that desert solitude approached Denver out of curiosity.

He did it once, while the young man made his daily rounds.

The next day when she saw him go by, the

new

stray dog

came over and it quickly became a routine

that they both ended up enjoying.

"In January 2020 they sent me to the desert.

While I was there I met this nice friend,

" said the young man in a video that went viral on TikTok and Instagram.

He came to pick me up every day on my walk from the place where I worked to my house. "

It was clear that this dog, which he named

Sampson

, was not like other animals.

It is that not only did he accompany him on his return home, but whenever they met, the friendly dog joined the soldier's patrols and his walks around the barracks, despite the fact that Denver was prohibited from interacting with him due to the risk of illness. and injuries.

After a hard year of work marked by the pandemic,

Denver had to return home and then the question arose about what to do with this dog.

He was abandoned in Afghanistan and had become an inseparable companion, so the young man did not think too much about it.

Leaving him there was not an option for Denver, so he

began the steps to carry out the transfer of his best friend

to the United States.

First he found out what the possibilities were of moving the animal in an area of constant tension.

As soon as he knew he could do something to rescue him, the young soldier began his particular mission of bringing the cub home.

"

I knew I had to find a way to bring him home again,

" the soldier said.

"I knew I had to find a way to bring him home again."

"With the help of some really incredible people, I

found a shelter that could carry out the transfer of the dog

. Against all odds and complications and in the midst of a global pandemic we put the rescue plan in motion," recalled the young man with great pride. .

Finally, after several weeks of much effort and care,

Sampson and Denver were able to meet again

in the United States and this time enjoying each other's company and caresses.

"It was 10 months of hard work, 15 hours of flight and 14 hours of driving on the road, but Sampson is already home. The mission

: 'bring Sampson to the United States' is probably the greatest achievement of my life,"

completed Denver. which is constantly shown on social networks with its inseparable side.
